Tax Lawyer (3 to 5 years of experience)

We are presently looking for a tax lawyer with 3 to 5 years of experience.

 

The candidate we are seeking will work primarily in personal and corporate tax planning, corporate reorganizations, estate and post mortem planning.

 

Perfectly bilingual, the ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Taxation or will have completed the CPA In-Depth Tax Course.

Tax Litigation Legal Assistant

We currently have a great opportunity for a Tax Litigation Legal Assistant.

 

Main responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure diary entry and file maintenance, including management of deadlines
  • Carry out meticulous management and follow-up of client files, while preserving their confidentiality
  • Prepare, review, and format legal documents, including procedures, exhibits, books of authorities, forms, letters, and other correspondence
  • Follow procedures with tax authorities
  • Communication with various parties (clients, bailiffs, stenographers, opposing lawyers, etc.)
  • Perform tasks of an administrative nature such as opening and closing files, conflict searches, time entry, billing, credit notes, expense reports, filing, etc.
  • Perform other related duties

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Diploma in legal secretarial studies (an asset)
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in the legal field, in a similar position
  • Knowledge in drafting documents and procedures (Civil Procedure and Federal Court)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Perfectly bilingual (French and English)

Corporate Paralegal

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist lawyers in transactional matters
  • Draft various corporate and tax documents: constitutions, organizations, amendments to articles of incorporation, dissolutions, share transactions, extra-provincial registrations, rollovers, estate freezes, mergers, tax reorganizations
  • Perform all other transactions, such as due diligence on purchases and sales of businesses
  • Maintain up-to-date minute books for our corporate clients (electronic and paper versions)
  • Performs any other duties as required

 

Qualifications:

 

  • DEC in paralegal techniques or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in the field performing similar functions
  • Perfectly bilingual (French and English)
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Good knowledge of Kofax/Nuance PDF
