General presentation

Steven Sitcoff’s practice is focused on corporate and personal tax, both domestic and international. He has significant experience working with private and public entrepreneurial companies of various sizes, from industries including consumer products, retail, real estate, financial services, and entertainment.  His focus is on providing clients with proactive and practical solutions to further their business objectives.

Steven is frequently consulted by clients and aviation services firms to advise on acquisition structures for aircraft, to review existing aircraft structures and policies, and for representation in aircraft-related audits and tax disputes.  He has also represented both corporate and individual taxpayers before federal and provincial tax authorities.

A member of the Bars of both Quebec and Ontario, Steven fulfilled his articling requirements as a law clerk to the Judges of the Tax Court of Canada.

  • Advice to inbound corporations on planning tax-efficient structures to establish operations in Canada
  • Review of aircraft usage policies for public and private corporations
  • Tax planning for the selling shareholders of a major retail chain
  • Extensive experience in representing clients with regard to the voluntary disclosure programs of both the Canada Revenue Agency and Revenue Québec, especially as pertains to offshore bank accounts
