Costs of a case
Cases against health professionals must be well supported in order to succeed. It is not rare to require recourse to several experts, physicians, auditors, and others, who need to produce expensive reports. However, a good portion of these costs may be reimbursed by the physician if the victim wins the case.
Concerning the costs of lawyers, certain arrangements can be negotiated. Thus, at times our services are billed at an hourly rate, then in other instances it is possible to negotiate an agreement based on a percentage of the amount of a condemnation.

Delays in a case
A victim must serve notice of intent to take action within a maximum delay of three years following the realization of being the victim of an error.
Once an action has been filed, all of a series of procedures must be followed and cross-examinations also may be applicable. When all of these steps have been completed, a date for proceedings can be requested. A delay of about three to five years from the start of an action to the rendering of a judgment should be expected. The sole consolation is that the amount of a condemnation accrues interest during this entire period.
